Privacy notice
How Stenwick handles the details you send us, in plain English.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms or send us by email, and use it to run your check and reply to you.
- We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
- This site does not set cookies.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time.
Who we are
Stenwick runs this website and the free AI visibility check, and decides how the details you send us are used. If you have a question about your data, email hello@stenwick.com.
What we collect and why
When you ask for a free check
The form asks for your website, what you do, where you work or who your customers are, and your email address. You can also name a competitor. We use this to run your check, send you the results, and reply if you get in touch about them.
When you get in touch as a web agency
The partner form asks for your name, your agency’s name and website, your email address and anything you choose to tell us about your clients. We use it to talk to you about working together.
When you email us or book a call
We keep the conversation so we can reply and refer back to it. If you book a call, the booking service receives the name and email address you give it.
The “ask it about yourself” box
The box on our home page opens the AI assistant you choose in a new tab, with the question already written. What you type goes to that assistant, under its own privacy terms. It is not sent to us.
Running your check
A check means typing questions about your business and your market into AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers. Those questions contain business information only, such as your company name, your website and your town or sector. They never contain your email address or other contact details.
Our lawful basis
When you ask for a check, fill in the partner form or write to us, we use your details because you asked us to: to take the steps you requested before any agreement, or because we have a legitimate interest in answering you. If you choose to hear from us about AI visibility in future, we rely on your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our email. They handle your details on our instructions and may not use them for their own purposes.
- A form service, which receives what you submit through the forms on this site.
- Our email provider, which carries and stores our email.
- A booking service, if you book a call.
We do not sell your details or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the protections UK data protection law requires, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your request and your results while we are in touch with you about them, and delete them when we no longer need them. If you become a client, our agreement sets out how long we keep your data. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set cookies.
We do not use analytics or tracking tools on this site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your details;
- limit how we use them, or stop using them;
- send them to you or to someone else in a format a computer can read.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@stenwick.com. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
