Two answers, word for word

Perplexity Example

“What are the best alternatives to Ledgerline for a small agency?”

If Ledgerline’s invoicing-first approach doesn’t fit, small agencies most often move to Northcrm or Pipewell. Northcrm has the larger library of integrations. Pipewell is designed for agencies: it keeps retainers, project tracking and client billing in one place, and includes a client portal. Both offer a free trial.

Named, described accurately Named, described accurately. New this month. Perplexity cites the comparison page published on 9 October.

Gemini Example

“Pipewell vs Northcrm: which is better for agencies?”

Both are reasonable choices for a small agency. Northcrm is the more established product and includes a client portal, which is useful if you share work with clients. Pipewell is quicker to set up, but it does not offer a client portal, so agencies that need one may prefer Northcrm.

Named, described wrongly Named, described wrongly. Pipewell has had a client portal since August. Gemini is relying on a 2025 comparison article, so we are asking its publisher to correct it.

What changed, and why

  • Answers about Pipewell’s plans are now accurate in ChatGPT and Google AI.

The 2024 pricing page was still live and still being quoted. It now redirects to the current plans, which are set out in plain text.

  • Pipewell is named for “alternatives to Ledgerline” in Perplexity.

No page answered that question before. The comparison page published on 9 October is the source Perplexity cites.

  • ChatGPT names Pipewell for “easiest to set up for a small creative agency”.

The review-site profile was claimed and its category corrected. It had listed Pipewell as accounting software.

  • Still wrong: Gemini says there is no client portal.

The source is a 2025 comparison article on another site. A correction request goes to its publisher in November.

Checked by a person before it was sent. A real report includes a dated screenshot of every answer.

How to read it

Every answer lands in one of three states. The report tracks how many move from one to another each month.

  • Named, described accurately

    Named, described accurately

The assistant named the company and got the facts right. The job here is to keep it that way as the product changes.

  • Named, described wrongly

    Named, described wrongly

The company is in the answer, but something is off: an old feature list, the wrong category, last year’s plans. We trace which source the assistant relies on and fix or contest it.

  • Not named

    Not named

The assistant answered without the company. We look at who it named instead, and what those companies have that the assistant could find.

The questions stay the same from month to month, so the comparison is fair. Answers vary by account and by day, so we read the pattern across all four assistants rather than any single answer. See how the work is done or what working together looks like.

Questions about the report

Is Pipewell a real company?

No. Pipewell, Northcrm and Ledgerline are invented, and so is every answer on this page. Your report uses your own questions, your competitors and real answers, each with a dated screenshot.

Who chooses the questions in my report?

You do, with us. We propose questions based on how your buyers describe what they need, you approve the list, and it stays the same each month so the comparison is fair.

What happens to fixes waiting for my approval?

Nothing goes live until you say yes. Anything still waiting stays on the list in the next report, and we publish it once you have approved it.
